When you sell stock that you are invested in, the cash generated by this stock sale can be used to then make a new investment in your Stockpile account, or this cash can be withdrawn back to an ACH-linked bank.

Before you can use or withdraw this cash though it does first have to get through a settlement period known as T+2. T+2 is an industry-standard settlement cycle for most broker deal securities transactions. We try to make funds available the following business day to use for investment, but T+2 would need to finish before the cash can start the withdrawal process.
